                     Yarlung Zangbo River Scenic Spot was officially open for tourism on July 24.

Yarlung Zangbo River, the deepest canyon on the earth, was officially open for tourism on July 24.

The Yarlung Zangbo River Scenic Spot, which locates in the Pai Township of Nyingchi Prefecture, was invested by Tibet Tourism Corp. with 350 million yuan.

Yarlung Zanbo River, Namjiagbarwa Peak-the highest peak in eastern Tibet and the water sports with highest altitude in the world, dminate the whole scenic spots while dining and lodging services are well equipped.

We made Yarlung Zangbo River Scenic Spots into the largest eco-tourism tourist attractions in China, said Ouyang Xu, chairman of Tibet Tourism Corp.

According to Li Lanping, head of Nyingchi local tourism bureau, the most primitive ecological environment, species, lifestyle, society civilization were well preserved in Nyingchi where excellent tourism resources are occupied.

Both highway and waterway were available for traveling there.

Basic tourism facilities are now ready to serve the guests while some, which are built for the convenience of tourists, will be finished construction by the end of 2009.

By then, the Yarlung Zangbo River Scenic Spot is capable of receiving more than 30,000 tourists annually.
